The Diagram tab builds flowcharts, graphs, and schematics from a concise text description, so you lay out a process or a relationship without dragging boxes into alignment by hand.
Describe the diagram
Choose a diagram type — flowchart, sequence, graph, and more — and describe the nodes and edges. The preview renders as you type:

Node shapes, arrow styles, and the layout direction all come from the description, and you can pick a theme so the diagram matches the rest of your figures.
Insert shapes and elements
You can add individual shapes and elements to an existing diagram. Node identifiers attach directly to their shape — no stray spacing — so the diagram stays valid as you extend it, and the preview recovers gracefully if a line is momentarily incomplete.
Export or insert
When it looks right, export the diagram as a PDF for a crisp vector figure, or Insert it into your paper with a \label. Like every Figure Studio object, a saved diagram reopens here for editing, so you always adjust the source of the figure rather than a flattened image.
Tip: Keep diagram labels short. A figure that is legible at single-column print width reads far better than one packed with long text.
