Finding a paper is only useful if you can cite it later. Papers connects directly to your Reference Library, so anything you turn up in search or the citation network is one step from being a citable source.
Save a result
From a search result or a node in the citation network, save the paper to your library. Writano keeps its metadata — title, authors, venue, year, and identifiers like the DOI — so the reference is complete without retyping anything.
What comes across
A saved paper lands in the library as a full reference you can then enrich:
- attach its PDF and highlight it
- add private notes
- cite it in any project, with the key written into that project’s
.bib
For PDF imports, Writano extracts the DOI and metadata on upload, so a paper you have as a file arrives with its details filled in.
Cite it anywhere
Once a paper is in your library it is available to every project, not just the one you were working in when you found it. The unified cite flow inserts it and keeps the project bibliography in sync.
Tip: Save papers as you explore rather than at the end — the citation network is easier to work through when the ones you want are already filed.
