Read in place
Open a reference and its attached PDF loads in the built-in viewer, with paging and zoom. You never leave Writano to read the source you are about to cite, and the viewer renders the document faithfully rather than as a thumbnail.
Highlight what matters
Select a passage to highlight it. Highlights are saved with the reference, so the sentences you flagged are still there the next time you open the paper — useful for pulling a quote or remembering why you filed a source.
Metadata from the PDF
When you upload a PDF, Writano extracts its DOI and fills in the reference metadata automatically, so a paper you have as a file arrives as a complete, citable record without retyping the details.
Note: On a shared project, collaborators can see the project’s references and their PDFs, so a co-author reads and cites from the same sources you filed.
