Storage in Writano is one pooled quota: documents, figures, and your Reference Library’s PDFs all draw from the same allowance. One number to think about, shown in one place — no separate ledgers for “document storage” and “PDF storage” that disagree with each other.
Seeing your usage
The Billing page shows how much of your quota is used. Reference PDFs are usually the biggest consumer — a well-fed library of paper PDFs adds up faster than your own manuscripts do.
When you’re running out
Two options, both honest:
- Free up space — delete projects you no longer need, or remove reference PDFs while keeping the references themselves (the bibliographic entry, notes, and citations stay; only the stored PDF goes).
- Buy a storage pack — add-on storage is purchasable from the Billing page and stacks on top of your plan’s allowance, without changing your plan.
Uploads and limits
Individual file uploads have size limits (shown when you hit them, with a real progress bar on the way up). If an upload is refused, it’s either the per-file limit or your remaining quota — the error says which.
